What is liquidation in futures trading?

Liquidation occurs when your position is automatically closed after your losses reach the margin amount allocated to that position. In Isolated Margin mode:
Losses are limited to the margin used for that position
The system liquidates the position to prevent losses beyond your margin
An estimated liquidation price is shown while placing the order, based on Leverage selected & Margin invested
